Let printer determine colors Global Setting

Enabling the "Let printer determine colors" option when printing fixes an issue we are having with PDF's printing very slowly. We are wanting to deploy this fix to 100's of PCs and are wanting to know if there is a way to do this. Currently we are fixing this issue as people complain about it.

I have been able to determine the location of this setting in the registry as HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\Originals\sPrinterSpace

This value is unfortunately set for the current user and varies by which user is logged into a PC. Is there a global value we can change, or is there a setting we can change during install using the Acrobat Customization Wizard?

Thank you for any help with this issue.

Extracting the Adobe Acro Reader DC EXE

Good Evening,

I'm attempting to extract the latest 19.010.20091 reader DC exe for an SCCM application package. I've verified that if I just install the exe I get the correct 19.010.20091 version, but once I extract the MSI file using 7zip and install I'm getting version 15.007.20033 from that same exe.

Does anyone know what's going on? I really need to get that MSI to install the correct version.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide,
Robert S

We are unable to download the latest patch for reader that was released yesterday. The FTP site appears to be down. Anyone else having trouble?

We received the announcement Adobe Security Bulletin  and I do what I always do but the site looks down. The direct links in the bulletin are only for Acrobat DC and not reader.

Does anybody have experience with deploying Adobe Pro 17 on non-persistent virtual desktops?

I am having a few issues deploying Adobe Pro 17 to a gold image. I want to disable the sign on and registration prompt so the end users don't have to do it every time they log in. In my environment, we use Vmware, Citrix, and ProfileUnity to deploy a pool of virtual desktops. Every time a user logs in, they are issued a random desktop from the pool. Adobe Pro 17 comes down to the user desktop from ProfileUnity. That part all works fine, but the user is prompted to sign in and register the product every time they are issued a new desktop from the pool. I am wondering if anybody has successfully deployed Adobe Pro in this fashion.

Thanks!

Adobe Reader Administrative Install Point documentation

Hello,

Is there a new location for the Adobe AIP documentation?

The link below does not work.

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/aip.html

I'm looking for this information, because I'm confused regarding patch order.

If I have planned update "AcroRdrDCUpd1901020091"

Then Out of Cycle update "AcroRdrDCUpd1901020098"

Do I simply create a fresh AIP and patch with "AcroRdrDCUpd1901020098", assuming all patches before are included the last released patch?

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC - Disable Start Free Trial

Hi,

Need to roll out Adobe Acrobat Reader DC MUI 19.008.20080 to 50,000+ machines. When launching a PDF, I get a 'Start Free Trial' in the bottom right hand corner. Whilst the majority or users wouldn't be able to download and install this, I want to remove this as a best practice for a large corporate environment.

NB - bAcroSuppressUpsell = 1 already set via policy key/Adobe Customisation wizard but made no difference.

Sign In Required for users with Acrobat Pro 2017 after a year

We've deployed Acrobat Pro 2017 to our office systems using an .mst file created in the Acrobat Customization Tool. We added our license key to it so our users would not get the Sign In Required prompt.

Over the past week, we've had some users get the prompt when using Acrobat. We're wondering if there's a web-connection issue that's preventing the client from phoning home to an Adobe web site and maybe the prompt is due to that. Does Acrobat check in to a web site to verify the license key at each start?

I've been looking through some logs that I think might help troubleshoot the issue, amt3.log, oobelib.log and PDApp.log. There are some errors in there but frankly I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for.

Our office, in their infinite wisdom, neglected to purchase support when buying Acrobat so we do fly blind sometimes trying to sort things out. Has anyone run into a similar issue and found an answer to the mysterious Sign In Required prompt?

Is there a "Third Party Updates" catalog list for adobe products for SCCM usage?

Hi, is there a list of Catalogs available for adobe products for use with Third Party Updates in SCCM? The only ones I have found reference to don't appear to be signed.

For Acrobat, I used https://armmf.adobe.com/arm-manifests/win/SCUP/AcrobatCatalog-DC.cab but this returns the following error.

Catalog "Adobe Acrobat DC Catalog" does not include content signing certificates, attempts to publish update content for updates from this catalog may be unsuccessful until content signing certificates are added and approved.

Solution: Contact the catalog provider to obtain an updated catalog that includes the content signing certificates.

Do I need to add Wow6432Node to tune Adobe acrobat on 64-bit Windows 10?  Since Acrobat is a 32-bit application, I am confused. I found the application creates registry items both under the path with and without Wow6432Node.

Search in non OCRed pdfs

I have about 10K non OCRed pdfs, and I want to pick up all that contain the name of the  company "Fedex".

If I try to apply OCR before advanced search process it will take great amount of time, the pdfs are 100 pages and more.

But the thing is that keyword located in the beggining of the first page of the document. Is there any method to select all files contating the keyword without OCR of the whole document?

Deployed Acrobat 2017 Pro Without Grant Offline Exception...How to fix already installed systems?

Hi.

Trying to resolve a package problem.

Acrobat Pro 2017 was deployed to many in our enterprise.

MST was created using Acrobat Customization Wizard DC with valid serial number.

The option Grant offline exception was not selected when authoring the MST.

Users are getting the "Sign In Required" when you launch the Pro 2017, but no one has an ID so it cannot be used.

I corrected the MST and we no longer get the "Sign In Required" prompt on new installs.

Is there some cmd i can run that will remove this prompt from existing installs?

Adobe PDF Printer Driver Server Licensing

As part of a service offered by the company I work for, we convert an HTML document into a PDF. Currently, we use a third party app to do this, but it no longer meets our needs. Through Adobe Acrobat DC, I'm able to set up the Adobe PDF printer as the default printer on my system, and set the output folder so all printed PDFs are sent to this folder automatically. Then, all I have to do is print from my application and it will automatically print without a prompt. It works great. However, I don't know what the licensing requirements are to put this functionality on a server.

In short, what license/product would I need to buy to set up a single server with the Adobe PDF printer driver? Literally, all I need to do is print to PDF and that's it. I've searched for a simple answer, but haven't come across it yet. Thank you.

Acrobat DC activation behavior

I got trap into a complicated licensing issue. I'd bought below volume license:

1. 3 x Acrobat Pro DC2015 12.0 MLP AOO License IE

2. 2 x Acrobat DC2015 12.0 WIN AOO License IE

3. 2 x Acrobat Pro DC2015 12.0 MLP Upgrade License IE <- for item 2 above

The 5 licenses were installed and activated in 5 different Win Server 2008 R2. Recently I installed 1 new Win Server 2016 and plan to retire those old 2018 R2. Since it's still in testing stage. So, I'm not yet going to shutdown the old production servers. After activate the Acrobat Pro in Win Server 2016. I found that 1 of the Win Server 2018 R2 has its Acrobat Pro deactivate itself.

My first question is, is the above behavior normal when the number of times I activate more than the number of license I bought?

As the serial number of item 1 and 3 above are different. I already forgot which serial number use to activate which server. Lets say I shutdown 1 of the old server in order to free up 1 license. I don't know I should use which serial number to do the activation in Win Server 2016.

My second question is how to find out the serial number in each old server that use to activated Acrobat Pro? Or do I need to use 3rd party software such as this -> https://www.isumsoft.com/pdf/reinstall-or-transfter-acrobat-dc-to-a-new-computer.html

I don't see any "deactivate" option in Acrobat Pro. Is this normal when use volume license?

Approved Trust Certificate List - Update Now

Hi,

We have Adobe Acrobat DC deployed to all of our users. We need to load the trusted root certificates from an Adobe Server. Clicking "Update Now" works, which is great because we get the certificates and our issue is resolved. However, we need to do this for all users.

To try and achieve this, I made 2 changes:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\Security\cDigSig\cAdobeDownload - bAskBeforeInstalling

Changed from 1 to 0

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\Security\cDigSig\cAdobeDownload - bLoadSettingsFromURL

Changed from 0 to 1

The effect of these 2 Registry changes was to tick the box for "Load trusted root certificates from an Adobe server" and to untick the box for "Ask before updating". These settings are found in Adobe Reader under Edit > Preferences > Trust Manager.

These changes do not result in the certificates being downloaded though; but only seem to set the tick boxes as desired. So I'm wondering, how do we effectively click the "Update Now" for all users? Is there a Registry change that we can do for this as well?

Currently, we have just 1 Certificate under Edit > Preferences > Signatures > More (under Identities & Trusted Certificates). We get many, many more after clicking "Update Now".

Thanks to anyone who can offer any help/advice.

Fredrik

How to dedicate an Acrobat DC Pro license to a position?

Bonjour,

Cordialement

François
