Adobe Acrobat DC CC Automatic Updates

Hello,

 

I created an Adobe Acrobat DC Creative Cloud installer (Device licensing).  In that process I specified to disable updates.  I tried to use the Customization Wizard to modify the created MSI (as I've done for previous Acrobat Pro installs) but it does not open and says it isn't supported.  From there I deployed the installer via 'setup.exe --silent' and all seemed well.  Adobe Acrobat appears to be automatically installing updates, though.

 

I have downloaded the Group Policy Templates and specified to disable updates but that does not work.  I can modify the registry setting via the Group Policy Preference information they gave but I'd like to avoid this if possible.

 

Any thoughts?

Hello,

 

I'm attempting to install Adobe Acrobat 2017 in a citrix 6.5 farm that publishes apps only. I ran the APTEE and received an error code 14. I used LEID V7 AcrobatESR-12-Win-GM and tried the -17 one also.

I was actually doing a test drive of Adobe Acrobat DC (the 7 day free trial) because I need to purchase 15-20 licenses for our small business.  I got the quote easy enough on line (isn't that always the way it is -- you can get them to sign you up, but then you can't get any customer service), but I had one issue with optimizing and was trying to find someone...ANYONE...to help.  I called the support line and got someone not in the US who proceeded to tell me there was no issue.  Really?  Then why does my Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 take 60 seconds to optimize a document, and DC takes 8 minutes to optimize the same exact document?  I tried calling back (for about 30 minutes) but got caught in 1-800 number automated selection hell and whenever I selected the option that I wanted....it would hang up on me.  I can't say that I'm impressed and, at this point, I'm looking into Nuance PDF as an alternative.

Moving imaged hard drive to new system

Hello,

 

We are working on upgrading all our system to Windows 10 with Adobe Acrobat DC installed on the image. We have also used the custimization wizard to create an offline exception and add the serial# to the install. The plan is to create several images on 1 PC and then just replace the hard drives on the machines that we want to upgrade. The problem were are having is once we move the hard drive to the new PC, Adobe Acrobat seems to lose the offline configuration and wants the user to Sign-In with an Adobe ID. We do not want this to happen. If we do not change the hard drive and use the same system that the image was created on, we do not have this problem. Anyone have any ideas on how to get this working without having to uninstall and re-install Adobe Acrobat?

Adobe Installer Blocked by Firewall - Recurring Issues

Over the last 6 months or so I've had to add 13 firewall rules to accommodate changes in to the servers that your products are downloaded from.  The FQDN at the bottom of the list never worked.

 

This happens every time I need to install Adobe products on a client's computer.  Something new is blocked, and I have to track down your new IP address and add a firewall exception for it, often more than one.  See screenshot below, today I added the rule titled Adobe Acrobat 8. (has nothing to do with version numbers, just the number of rules I've had to add in order to accommodate you.)

 

Can you provide a FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) for your installation servers so that I don't have to add on average two new Adobe rules every single month?

Tenho uma licença do Acrobat Pro 11, é uma licença com ativação local, gostaria de fazer a ativação em um ambiente virtualizado com acesso remoto. Este ambiente não poderá ter acessos simultâneos mas alguns usuários poderão intercalar acesso e usar os softwares instalados, entre eles o Acrobat Pro 11.

 

Gostaria de saber se isso pode ser realizado ou não, e se existe um documento Adobe que autorize este processo.

Acobat DC license issues

I have 5 serial numbers (10 total licenses) for Acrobat DC.  Everytime I sign in on one computer, it screws up someone else in my office.  I talked to support today and they told me that he isn't showing any of these licenses as being used.  I have entered the correct serial numbers every time i install.  I am getting so frustrated.  I have too many licenses and is still telling my I don't have enough.  All serial numbers are registered under my account.  Can you only so many licenses under the same Login?   Anyone else experiencing this?  Any advice is welcomed.  


Acrobat not works - Adobe Application Manager is corrupted

Hello,

I have Acrobat Pro 11 that was bought two years ago and successfully used couple of months.

Now, after long break I'm trying to use it again. It works a few days but then says "Your Adobe Application Manager is corrupted... Please download it from ... URL" (I'm using Ukrainian version the quotation may be inaccurate).

But this link is broken.

I’m reinstall Acrobat a few times but it not help.

What should I do to fix this problem and use Acrobat normally?

Please help.

 

PS. I already have Adobe account and already register my Acrobat there.

I am wanting to assign a value ($36.00) to a name if placed in one to five fields and add the total. Example: Field 1 = John, Field 2 = Left Blank, Field 3 = Paul, Field 4 = Pam, Field five left Blank. The there with names would be $26.00 each and so the sum of the five fields would be 3 x $36.00 = $108.00.

Why can't I activate my perpetual Acrobat Std. and Pro DC licenses without making the user create an Adobe ID?

We recently purchased a block of perpetual Acrobat DC 2015 Standard and Professional  licenses.

 

Unlike the past where IT could download the install from LWS and enter the key for the install, now the install wants us to create an Adobe ID for each user.

 

We can understand that for a subscription purchase but why are we getting this for the perpetual licenses.   This is not practical or sustainable for every end user to be asked to set up an Adobe account.  We don't want to have to do that which is why we bought perpetual. licenses under TLP.

 

We contacted both Adobe support and our reseller for help and they both gave us guidance on how to get around this but neither worked.

We got a special download page from Adobe support but that did not work.    It still demands an Adobe ID.

We got guidance about using the offline exception feature from our reseller and that did not work.  Error message:  Offline exception grant process failed

 

Can anyone help us with how to get this installed?

Adobe Pro Usage Audit

Is it possible to audit what users are actually using the features of pro?  I understand I can get the last used date, but I would like to avoid cases in which users are using pro to view PDFs.  All I care about is whether or not a user needs pro vs. reader.  We would like to get an accurate count so we can migrate users from Adobe X Pro to Acrobat DC Pro.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Adobe acrobat keeps hogging the default file association from reader

Hi,

 

We using Citrix servers at our company. We have both Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat installed on them, but due limited licenses, Acrobat is restricted to a selected few users.

 

Whenever an update comes out, Adobe Acrobat hogging the default file associations, and throwing errors to the users who does not have access right to it.

 

We have to go to each citrix server and re-apply Adobe Acrobat Reader as default PDF handler. This happens arond once a month.

 

is there a way to stop the file-association -change?

After updating Acrobat DC to latest release, prompted to sign in.

I have created a customization install disabling the prompt to sign in...  Everything was fine until the last update release 15.006.30280.  After installing that the  Sign In Required prompt pops up.  The only way I have found to get rid of that is to uninstall all of acrobat and reinstall it.  I install the updates again, including 15.006.30280 and it works fine with no Sign In prompt.  I don't really want to do it on 60 computers.  Anyone experienced this?  Is there an easier fix?  Thanks.

Acrobat Std DC team subscription

We are currently unable to renew individual users team subscription for Adobe Acrobat Std DC  with our current renewed Team Subscription valid thruu Dec 2017.

Scenario:

User gets message "Subscription Expires", when activating our Acrobat Std DC according to the documented procedure, it looks as it works but then the applications reverts back to Acrobat Pro DC and says subscription expired?

 

All user information looks ok on the admin console Team page and the users indivual Adobe Account page!

 

We are also unable to remove users from the Team and reassign licenses?

 

Any hints would be appreciatied!

how to apply quarterly patch acrobat xi pro

hi everyone,

our users have Adobe Acrobat XI v11.0.17 installed and i would like to upgrade to Adobe Acrobat XI v11.0.20.  i have looked over the documentation and i just can't get it to work.  we have over 100 users so we're using a software delivery system...Altiris.  the original install was done via the Adobe Customization Wizard XI using a transform file. 

 

i have tried upgrading using a transform, admin install as well as using the 'PATCH' switch.  What is the best and least invasive way to upgrade to the latest version?  HELP!!!  TIA...

Define Protected View Options

Hi Adobe

 

I have recently deployed Acrobat Reader DC to my company and we have Protected View set to All files by default however, the end user is able to modify that setting.  I have been exploring the possibility of controlling this setting by a registry key via Group Policy which is easy enough.  But I haven't been able to find anything that defines what "Files from protentially unsafe locations".

 

Are you able to provide me with what a potentiall unsafe location is please?
